Dr. Rob Leslie – Urologist

Dr. Leslie’s practice consists of urologic oncology and general urology.
He specializes in advanced surgical care for prostate, kidney and bladder
cancer. He also performs percutaneous nephrolithotripsy and ureteroscopy
for kidney stones, as part of his general urology practice.

Dr. Leslie completed his medical degree, as well as his urology residency,
at Queen’s University. He became a fellow of the Royal College of
Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2017. Dr. Leslie undertook further
fellowship training in urologic oncology at the University of Calgary, with
focus on robotic and open prostatectomies. He has a Master’s of Science
from The University of Western Ontario. Dr. Leslie has published multiple
peer-reviewed articles and has presented research findings at both national
and international conferences.

Dr Leslie is passionate about surgical excellence, driving innovation and
quality of care. He is the Cancer Care Ontario(CCO), Surgical Oncology
Lead, for the hospitals in the North Simcoe Muskoka Region, responsible for
overseeing quality of care in cancer surgeries. His interest in bringing
advanced surgical techniques to the Simcoe Muskoka patient population lead
him to be the first surgeon to perform laparoscopic partial nephrectomy at
Royal Victoria Regional Health Center.

Dr. Leslie grew up in Barrie and is a graduate of Barrie Central
Collegiate. He spent his summers working Search and Rescue for the Canadian
Coast Guard on Georgian Bay. He takes pride in being able to provide care
for the patients of this community.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I meet with Dr. Leslie?

An appointment to meet with Dr. Leslie will be made once a written referral is received from another physician. Dr. Leslie will review all new referrals and prioritize them in order of medical urgency. Your referring physician will inform you of your initial appointment, and our office will contact you prior to your first appointment.

How can I be prepared for my appointment?

You must bring a valid Ontario health card to every appointment. Please bring a complete list of all of your medications (both prescription and over-the-counter), and be prepared to answer some questions about your medical history. Dr. Leslie will have access to all X-ray and imaging studies at RVH and in Barrie, but not at other facilities – for imaging done elsewhere, please bring a CD (disc) of the CT scan or MRI images.

Do I need a new referral if I have seen Dr. Leslie in the past?

If you have been seen by Dr. Leslie in the past 12 months, you can contact us directly for an appointment. Otherwise, we would be happy to see you again, but a new referral from your doctor will be needed.

Is there free parking for my appointment?

The Royal Court Medical Centre is a paid parking facility. Please note that for appointments for procedures or imaging (X-rays, CT, etc.) at the Royal Victoria Hospital, you will need to park on hospital property.

Is there a pharmacy on the premises?

Yes, there is a Pharmasave on the first floor.

How can I get a note for work? I need disability forms filled out for work for my illness/recovery from surgery.

Documentation can be completed by Dr. Leslie. A fee will be charged. You will be contacted once the forms have been completed- you can either pick them up, or we can mail them to you.

I am waiting to meet Dr. Leslie for the first time. How long will it take?

Dr. Leslie personally reviews all new referrals and prioritizes them by the medical urgency. Your family physician (or other referring physician) will contact you with your appointment date and time.
